How do I send my product in for repair?
If you have not registered your tuner, you must do so before opening your support ticket.
All products returned for service must have a support ticket number on the outside of the box as well as on the accompanying paperwork on the inside of the box.
We strongly recommend shipping with tracking information and insurance. Peterson Electro-Musical Products, Inc., and subsidiaries thereof, are not responsible for lost packages in transit to our repair facility.
Include a description of your problem in both your support ticket and paperwork included with your product. Please be specific about the type of malfunction as well as the conditions under which it occurs. Include your name, address, phone number, and email address on the accompanying paperwork.
There is a minimum charge of $95.00 US plus return shipping charges for all Mechanical Peterson tuners received and a minimum charge of $48.00 US plus return shipping charges for all LCD Peterson tuners (unless subject to Peterson warranty). If you would like an advance estimate for service, you must include a request in writing with the product you ship. If you choose not to have your product repaired, there is a $48 diagnostic charge plus return shipping.
Payment options include PayPal, VISA, MasterCard, AMEX and Discover Card.
Any balance is due within 30 days of the completion of the repair. After 30 days, a storage fee will be charged. After 90 days, your property will be considered abandoned and will disposed of at our discretion.
For international (non-USA) repairs and for all Conn and Node tuner repairs, please open a support ticket as different procedures may apply.

Where should I put the vibe clip?
Common places to clip the vibe are:
On your belt line at the small of the back next to your spine, on the back of your collar, on your side next to your hip bone, or on your shoe.
Remember, always place the barrel of the vibe toward your body for the most effective beat transfer.

Updating the BBS firmware
The USB Software/Loader is required to load the firmware into the Sync. This will be a .msi installer file for Windows or a .dmg installer file for Mac OS X. Select the one you need for your computer below.
1. Download and install the USB Software/Firmware Loader Utility:
(Win XP/Vista/Windows 7): Download Windows
2. Download the latest firmware release: DOWNLOAD THE FIRMWARE HERE.
The actual firmware will be a .bin file. This file is the same for both Mac and Windows systems. Download this file and make note of where your computer locates it. You will need to navigate to it in the steps below. YOU ARE NOT DONE. PLEASE FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS BELOW TO LOAD THE FIRMWARE INTO THE Body Beat Sync.
Firmware Installation Instructions: 1. Turn off your Body Beat Sync before connecting it to your computer.
2. Press and hold the Tempo button while connecting the Body Beat Sync to your computer using the provided USB cable. (If your Body Beat Sync does not power on automatically, press and hold the Tempo Button, then press and hold the Start/Stop Button to power on.)
3. Once connected, the Body Beat Sync will power on in Update Mode, and the Updating Icon will appear in the lower right corner of the LCD display after the computer recognizes and installs the device automatically.
4. Open the Body Beat Sync USB software. (Windows XP users only: you will need to manually select "USB Audio Device" for the MIDI In and MIDI Out tabs near the top of the software window.)
5. The Load button (lower right-hand side) will initially be greyed out, but once the software connects with the Sync, it will become active. Click Load and browse to the location on your computer where you saved the downloaded firmware update. Select the file to auto-load it.
6. When the update is finished, unplug the USB cable, power the unit off and then turn it back on to complete the process.

What is the difference between the USB software and firmware?
The Body Beat Sync USB Software is the application that is used on your PC or Mac to transfer the firmware to the BBS-1 hardware via the USB cable. This software can also be used to transfer MIDI Tempo Maps to your BBS-1.
Think of the firmware as the data that runs your BBS-1, and the USB Software as a vehicle to get that data to your BBS-1 Metronome.
