I am just a beginning guitar player, but after switching to a Peterson Stroboclip HD, I can hear a marked improvement in the quality of sound. I had previously purchased a Snark and Fender clip on tuner for use with my Gretsch G2215-P90 and Squire J. Mascis signature model Jazzmaster electric guitars. I am playing them through a Fender Mustang LT25 amp and using D'Addario XL Nickel wound strings on the Jazzmaster and Stringjoy Signatures on the Gretsch.
Using the Stroboclip HD Sweetener setting for guitar, I am finally getting the sound I was looking for.
Setting up and using a Stroboclip HD is as easy as pushing a couple of buttons. The spinning patterns make understanding how much to adjust tuning intuitive. I doubt that I will ever use the higher end custom settings but who knows?
Bottom line: If you too are a beginner and are looking for a tuner, save yourself some time, money, and grief and go straight for the StrobClip HD.

ADVICE: buy some super glue when purchasing the Strobe HD - clip-on turner

This tuner is amazingly accurate and as tuning unit, is probably one of the best on the market. However, it's a shame the physical design is so poor. In particular, the design and construction mechanism of how the unit attaches to the clip is incredibly flimsy. Using a tuner "live" means taking it on and off the instrument very frequently indeed. With this mind, I have to say that construction of this unit is not really fit-for-purpose when being used in a live environment. Mine snapped after 2 weeks and for the last year or so I've been trying to glue it back together. This "hack" normally lasts about 2 weeks before it breaks again! Solution for me was to get a floor pedal tuner (Boss) which is much more reliable for live work. So in conclusion, yes this is a good tuner - maybe for the studio - but IMO the construction is simply not robust enough for gigging musicians. I realise there is a protective box available but by the time I'd found that out, it had aleady broken two or three t ...

Doesn't fit the "older" style Stroboclip. Wish I had known that. Otherwise, it's great quality and I'll use it store my spare picks.
