So I was browsing around Sweetwater and I came across this pedal – The StroboStomp Mini. I thought, yeah, it’d be cool to have a tuner in the signal chain on my pedal board, but…$120 for a tuner! But it looked so cool, so I read more and watched a few videos and well, $120 dollars later, I’ve got the awesome little box in my hands.

I’d never heard of a strobe tuner before. I’d been using my Snark for like forever and was perfectly happy with it. But after using the StroboStomp Mini this morning for the first time, I don’t know if I’ll ever be satisfied with tuners like a Snark or similar anymore. The StroboStomp Mini got my Taylor and my Strat so incredibly, perfectly in tune that they sound like different instruments! And they sounded great before, tuned with the Snark. But man, strumming a few chords on the Taylor or shredding on the Strat with every string absolutely, perfectly in tune is like a revelation, or maybe a revolution. I never would have believed it could have made such a difference.

And beyond the basics, the StroboStomp Mini is just a cool gadget. It is loaded with so many cool features like tuning sweeteners and various pass-through modes, and so on—I could go on and on, but all that info is on the Peterson site. But I will say that this is one of the most intelligently designed devices I’ve come across. The interface seems complicated at first, but after using it for a few minutes, everything makes sense, and it becomes simple and easy to use.

All in all, I think this pedal is worth every penny for the way it makes my guitars sound better than they ever have before; better than I ever thought they could. And it just looks so cool on the pedalboard. I can’t wait to show it off at the next jam session.
